Hospital essentials

No one likes a surprise or planned hospital visit. Whether is a day or two or even a longer stay. The in-house shops and canteens cost a lot, the food isn’t that great and the beds are not comfortable at all. Despite this, it’s always worth to be prepared and have everything you need for the time you are admitted. Here’s my list of hospital essentials:

  • Toothbrush and toothpaste (hospitals do provide these but I prefer to have my own)
  • Face cloth
  • Hairbrush
  • Dry shampoo
  • Mini toiletries (shower gel, again this can be provided)
  • Body spray
  • Moisturiser – a must have for me
  • Spare pj’s or comfy clothes (including underwear and socks)
  • Slippers
  • Reading book – to cure my everlasting boredom
  • Journal – of course I like to write about what’s happening
  • Snacks
  • 2 blankets (the bedding irritates me so I never sleep in the bed, I have one blanket on the bottom and one on top, this way I don’t come in contact with the bed sheets)

It may seem like a lot but every time I’m admitted, these are the necessities for me. Sometimes I will have a teddy too; you can never be too old for some comfort.
